The Communications Council is currently looking for Judging Coordinators to help with the 2020 AWARD Awards judging events.

AWARD – The Australasian Writers and Art Directors Association – now in its 41st year is the single most important regional creative awards show for the advertising industry.

This year marks the first time all the judging panels will be running simultaneously and we will need coordinators to look after each jury.

We are looking for people with experience working in events, who are tech-savvy, have excellent attention to detail and remain very calm under pressure. You must be confident and highly efficient, with the ability to learn quickly.

These roles will work with the Event Manager on the following:

  • Be solely responsible for your allocated jury, which includes hospitality, briefing, monitoring, screening the work and recording of results.
  • Setting up of AV and judging equipment in your room – including iPads and projector screens with a laptop.
  • Public speaking is required in order to brief the juries and the chairs, as well as readout results and provide direction to your jury.
  • Entering and checking all results are correctly entered into the online judging software and liaising with the Event Manager as to when they are complete.
  • Packing down and setting up your room ready for the next day of judging.


Required skills and experience:

  • Knowledge and familiarity using online databases and platforms as well as knowledge of both PC and MAC operating systems.
  • High level of familiarity using iPads.
  • High-level skills in the use of audiovisual equipment in an event environment. Must also have experience with video conferencing (Skype etc.).
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain a positive can-do attitude, with the ability to take initiative and problem solve.
  • High-level communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks.
  • Adept in public speaking with presentation skills.

This is a temporary position for 4 days from the 23rd – 26th March 2020 (2 days for training and 2 days of the live judging events).

There are 9 jury coordinators required.
