Communications Manager | amaysim NSW


The role of the communications Manager is focused on media outreach to garner as much positive earnt awareness for our brands, products and launches as possible.

The communications manager will do this through development and operational management of all public relations activities; like editorial media strategy, press releases, press events, speaker ops, media relations and relationship management.
  • Create, implement and manage PR campaigns working across a variety of functions and departments (marketing and more).
  • Develop a robust editorial calendar of unique content to drive both the corporate and consumer narrative and messaging for the amaysim group.
  • Development of exceptional PR activities including strategy, press events, speaker ops and press releases
  • A positive attitude: a “why not” person who sees opportunities and “makes things happen”
  • Maximising agency competencies to drive results that support integrated marketing campaigns, product launches and BAU activity that exceed expectations
  • Ability to set clear expectations both internally and externally whilst building and maintaining effective working

Key Skills

  • You'll have 8+ years experience in professional communications - specifically PR (consumer and/or corporate).
  • Have existing relationships with journalists and influencers, and consider media relations one of your top qualities.
  • An unhealthy obsession with the news agenda, staying on top of industry news stories and relevant trends.
  • Experience in organising press briefings, media sessions and events.
  • Ability to prepare briefing materials and manage executive spokespeople.
  • Demonstrate excellent writing skills, and experience writing a wide variety of communications (e.g., media releases, blogs, exec speaking points, speeches, contributed articles, etc.) on tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and mange a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Experience in managing multiple PR agencies.
  • Exemplary verbal and written communication skills.
