Job Description

Due to exciting growth, a suite of new clients and an evolving product offer, Bunch is on the hunt for a creative and confident Communications Specialist, reporting to our Communications Director.

With at least 6 years’ experience in managing communications projects and achieving outstanding results, you are practiced at transforming what businesses want to say into engaging content of all kinds. The focus of the Communications Specialist is to develop outstanding communications from strategy, through planning to delivery.

Key Skills

  • Strong understanding of best-practice communication strategies, with a focus on internal communication
  • Strong report writing and copywriting skills, with a creative approach to message development
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience developing (and working within) project timelines and budgets
  • A confident facilitator and presenter to senior stakeholders
  • Experience developing both digital (eDMs, video, intranet) and physical (activations, posters and other print collateral) campaigns
  • Ability to manage client expectations and respond to briefs and enquiries in a timely fashion (as well as write your own internal briefs)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing deadlines
  • Experienced and efficient use of Microsoft Office suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint required
  • Experience managing social media channels and website content.


This role will see you join a team that sets ongoing strategy and communications plans for clients. You’ll explore the current communications environment, uncover opportunities, provide recommendations and execute a broad suite of engaging and immersive communications.

What will fill a typical day?
1.    Conducting workshops, interviews and gathering intel from our clients
2.    Writing reports, communications strategies and plans
3.    Analysis of varying inputs to recommend ways to improve communications for our clients
4.    Supporting client communication campaigns across a variety of mediums
5.    Assisting in the upkeep of Bunch’s social media channels and website.

You’ll deliver Bunch’s brand promise of bringing strategy to life, while helping our clients make the complex simple and the simple exciting!
 
YOU:
You’re tertiary qualified in Communications and/or Marketing (or similar), with 6+ years’ experience delivering strategic and tactical communications projects.
Perhaps you have worked in a similar agency, had experience within internal communications or have been out on your own freelancing. Whatever comms experience you have, a strong understanding of how the communication system works within an organisation is a must.

A team player, you achieve first-rate outcomes for Bunch’s clients through the implementation of effective communication planning, design, messaging and content development. In doing so, you function as a critical lynch-pin between our Program Directors and our Creative Departments.

You’re a confident thinker, a creative problem solver and decision maker. As someone who loves leading projects - you achieve results. You develop creative solutions, shape governance and deliver outstanding communications projects. Scripts, eDMs, printed collateral, reports, show content, strategies, videos… whatever it may be you can not only make it happen, but you have a drive to ensure it is the most engaging it can be.

Working well independently in a fast-paced environment (and sometimes outside the usual 9-5 hours), you are a skilled communicator across all mediums of delivery for audiences (internal, channel, stakeholder and consumer), which enables you to successfully assume responsibility for the content and messaging of client projects.
You’re informed of the latest trends and best practice and use this knowledge to develop effective communications. You confidently present your ideas to senior stakeholders and construct compelling, yet simple written work.

You can take a page of notes, work out what is important and decide the best way to tell the story using both words and pictures. You’ll sit down with Change Managers wanting to celebrate the performance of their projects, or with Strategy Directors wanting to galvanise employees behind their three year strategic plan, and help them build their narrative.
Quietly clever, you’re driven to learn and create, in tune with the people around you, honest (and sometimes even cheeky) and above all, great to work with.
