Newly appointed Youngbloods QLD co-chairs proud to support Assisterhood Mentoring Program

Thursday, 8 March 2018

YB QLD Helmed by two new female co-chairs, Youngbloods QLD is wasting no time by teaming up with PublicisQ to launch a new mentorship program to help address gender imbalance.

Coinciding with International Women’s Day, the Assisterhood Mentoring Program will officially launch tonight, Thursday March 8, at Youngbloods QLD’s first event for 2018.

The Assisterhood program offers long-term mentorships with five of PublicisQ’s senior executives - Managing Director Simone Waugh, Client Services Director Jane Young, Digital Projects Director Alexandra Sundqvist, Senior Copywriter Kirsten Twigg and Broadcast & Content Director Vicki Lee.

Newly appointed co-chairs Rubini Gunaratnam and Nicole Klinakis say they are proud to be supporting the program and look forward to “shaking things up” in 2018.

"There couldn't a better time for a mentor program to help women in the industry. As females leading Youngbloods, we're proud to support the program - it's a great opportunity to strengthen our industry,” the pair said in a joint statement.

YB QLD“We're ecstatic and humbled to bring Youngbloods into 2018.  We have a fresh suite of events planned and are lucky to have a close-knit energetic team to help bring them to life."

To help them bring these fresh events to life, Klinakis and Gunaratnam have brought together a brand new team of young people from across the industry. Youngbloods regulars and newcomers alike can look forward to an exciting year of events that will aim to help uni students and industry professionals make connections and have fun.

The team are kicking off the year with the ‘A Night on the Green’ event tonight Thursday March 8 at The Boo Barefoot Bowls Club in Newstead. More information on the event can be found on the QLD Youngbloods Facebook.

PublicisQ Managing Director Simone Waugh and Client Services Director Jane Young will be attending the event to say a few words about the mentorship program.
