Information for agencies about signing up to Jump Start

Now in it’s sixth year, Jump Start is the preferred recruitment channel for WA members to find their graduate talent.

Jump Start has been designed to meet the needs of the local industry and provides a solid engagement and learning platform for both graduates and agencies.

How Jump Start works

Stage 1: Connect

Following an initial stage of candidate applications conducted by The Communications Council, agencies are invited to participate in:

  • Application judging scheduled for Tuesday August 7. See the applicant’s written form.
  • Speed date scheduled for Wednesday August 15. This is the chance to meet the person behind the application, in a fun and informal way.

Stage 2: Inspire

  • From Tuesday August 28 - October 16, graduates attend an eight week induction program. 
  • Each agency hosts one week, being either a morning (8am-11am) or afternoon session (3pm-6pm).
  • Being a host  – provides the opportunity to share your agency's culture and really get to know the graduates.
  • Be a mentor – being a team mentor is a rewarding experience and gives the agency an insight into the graduates. It requires one full day commitment on Friday October 26 from 7am to 7pm.

Agency commitment

  • $1800 + GST
  • Agency provides a nominated contact, mentor and two senior management members for judging and speed date attendance
  • Agency participation closes July 31, 2018
