Professional development agency Marketing 1Up has teamed up with the Communications Council to offer online courses, as part of the Council’s Accreditation offering.
Attracting the best and brightest in the industry and retaining them can provide agencies and marketers with a unique competitive edge. Finding relevant training opportunities pitched at the right level and within budget can be difficult. Marketing 1Up now caters for both those needs by offering a portfolio of online courses aimed at busy agency and marketing professionals, on a yearly subscription basis.
A moderate subscription fee covers all staff working with the agency or marketing department, which means they can take any of the courses on offer at any time.
All programs are supported by webinars and discussion forums to ensure interaction and support for anyone enrolling in a course. Courses currently available include:
Subscribers also have access to Toolboxes - a Brand Strategy and an Ideas, Innovation and Ingenuity Toolbox - that offers briefing papers on the latest techniques, tools and thinking. The Toolboxes are designed to provide ad-hoc support when working on a campaign, pitch or addressing a challenging marketing issue.
The Marketing 1Up’s offering is highly dynamic and shaped by subscriber questions and feedback as well as emerging industry trends and developments. This approach ensures that program material remains relevant and addresses the challenges that marketers face in real world situations. Subscribers also have direct access to course leaders for ongoing support and feedback on a one-to-one basis.
The Communications Council has partnered with Marketing1Up to promote the courses to member agencies as part of its accreditation program, which is designed to raise professional standards of advertising. A Certificate of Participation will be issued to successful course participants.

This initiative complements the existing training options run by the Communications Council through AdSchool and AWARD School. These face-to-face courses offer students comprehensive training in creative principles, strategic planning and account management skills.
