Individual membership

Individual Membership with one of the special interest groups of the Communications Council is open to anyone with an active interest in the marketing communications industry. You could be working agency or client side; creative or media; just starting out, or well on your way to the top. Whatever your field or position, we want you to feel you’re a part of the greater industry community.

Membership of a professional organisation extends your career networking. It's an important part of being connected, learning and developing your skills. You can attend member only events and be part of the conversation. From time to time we'll host events with a small charge to cover costs – there will always be a better rate for members.

Membership is available in three streams: Creative, Account planning and Account Management.



Creative - AWARD membership

AWARDMembership is open to anyone with an interest in the creative side of our business, from an agency, production, film, recruitment or media angle.

AWARD is managed by a committee of leading Creatives from our industry. They meet regularly to guide the development of the AWARD program; the Awards, AWARD School and other member initiatives. More information awardonline.com

Membership* includes:

  • Invitations to AWARD events
  • Member’s rates on AWARD Awards Presentation Evening tickets.
  • Invitation to attend AWARD School graduation nights (non-corporate member agencies are excluded)

AWARD membership is valued at $120 (inc. GST), and is tax deductible.

Account Planning - APG membership

The Account Management GroupMembership of the the Account Planning Group (APG) is open to anyone with an interest in planning. Current members include agency strategic planners of all levels, qualitative researchers, media strategists and clients among others. APG is managed by a committee of industry leaders all currently working in the industry. They meet regularly to set the agenda for programs and activities throughout the year. The APG holds one seat on the national board of The Communications Council. more info

Membership* includes:

  • Ability to enter the bi annual APG Strategy Awards. The Awards recognise the contribution great strategic planning makes to producing great creative work.
  • Ability to enter the bi annual APG Planning Idol award program for anyone under 30 who is interested in strategic planning.
  • Invitation to APG events

Individual membership is open to those outside agency membership, valued at $120 (inc. GST). Employees of agency members are eligible to become individual members of APG at no cost.

Account Management - AMG membership

The Account Management GroupThe purpose of the Account Management Group (AMG) is threefold:

1) To champion the discipline of account management and the vital role they play in building business, 2) They advocate the recognition and appreciation of the impact of account management, 3) To increase the pride, professional skills and effectiveness of our members.

They do this by inspiring, teaching, leading and connecting members. more info

Access to the following key events throughout the year aimed at junior-mid level account management teams:

  • Work behind the Work - a look behind the scenes of some of our best campaigns, from leading agency account management and creative leaders
  • Leadership seminar
  • 5 Minute Mentoring
  • Discussion about the role of consultancies
  • Panel with Client/ Agency relationship pairs

Individual membership is open to those outside agency membership, valued at $120 (inc. GST). Employees of agency members are eligible to become individual members of AMG at no cost.
